The date fits — here is the math
The base brick takes 22 characters. “EST. 06.14.2019” is 15. “6 YEARS 06.14.25” is 16. “TEN YEARS ❤️” is 12 (the heart counts as two). You have room for the date and a word, so you rarely have to choose.
Match the brick color to the year, not to the room
The traditional anniversary materials map cleanly onto the twelve brick colors: paper and cotton years suit White or Tan, wood suits Brown, ruby suits Dark Red, and the pearl year suits Light Grey. It is a small thing that lands when they notice it.
Add a figure when the family grows
Sets run 1 to 4 figures ($24.99 / $36.99 / $48.99 / $59.99). Couples who ordered a two-figure set for an early anniversary often come back for a three- or four-figure version after a child or a dog — same two originals, new arrival beside them.
First, tenth, fiftieth — put the number on the brick
Milestone years read better as words than as a bare date. “ONE YEAR DOWN” is 13 characters, “10 YEARS 06.14” is 14, “50 GOLDEN YEARS” is 15 — all inside the 22-character limit. For a first anniversary the date alone is usually enough; by the tenth, the number is the whole point.
Buying it for someone else's anniversary
Most of these are ordered for other people — parents, in-laws, a couple you are close to. You do not need to ask them anything: pick hair color and style, a rough outfit color and a face from the charts, then print the year they married on the brick. Getting the year right matters far more than getting the hair exactly right.
Anniversaries have a fixed date — work backwards
7–10 business days to hand-assemble plus 10–15 days of free shipping means roughly 4 to 5 weeks door to door in the US, 6 to 7 weeks internationally. Put the order in 6 weeks before the date and you are comfortable — 8 weeks from outside the US. If your anniversary is inside a month, choose a different gift and order this one for next year — we would rather say that than miss it.
Questions people ask about this
Can I print a date with slashes or a year range?+
Use periods or spaces instead of slashes — the printing accepts letters, numbers and . , ' & ! ? - plus ❤️. So “06.14.2019” and “2019 - 2026” work; “06/14/2019” does not.
Can I get two bricks, one for each of us?+
Not currently — every order includes one base brick that both figures stand on. If you want two separate keepsakes, place two orders.
What if I want it to be a surprise but need their details?+
You only need what you can see: hair color and style, rough outfit color, and how you would describe their face. Nothing needs to be measured or asked about, so the surprise survives.
Can you rush an order for a date I nearly missed?+
We do not offer rush production — every set is assembled by hand in the order it arrives, and skipping the queue would push someone else's anniversary past their date.
Is this a good anniversary gift for my parents or in-laws?+
It is one of the most common reasons people order. You are giving them the year they married, printed on something that sits on a shelf rather than something that gets used up. Pick the two figures from the charts — hair color and style, outfit color, a face — and put the year on the brick. Nobody has ever complained that the hairstyle was slightly off; the year being right is what lands.
What do I put on the brick if I do not want the date on it?+
Anything up to 22 characters, or nothing at all. Leave the message blank and the brick ships plain in the color you chose. Common alternatives to a date: the city they married in, a phrase only the two of them use, or just both first names with an ampersand.
